Fine parlor-palm leaflets unfold beside the name of a favourite player. Five houseplants in pots bearing Vegalta Sendai’s crest will reach five DCM stores in Miyagi on 1 October.
Supporter greenery arrives on 1 October
Vegalta Sendai announced on 23 September that its platinum partner Plant Design had created Vegalta Victory Green Mini for sale. Each small pot carries the club crest, and original labels are available for every player.
The five choices are parlor palm, money tree, snake plant, gajumaru and rubber plant. Even with the same pot and label, paired leaflets, upright blades, broad leaves and the character of a trunk or root base give each plant a different presence.
Choose the outline of the leaves first
A parlor palm carries small leaflets along both sides of a slender axis, so the whole frond opens like a soft fan. The photograph shown here is not the advertised product; it depicts Chamaedorea elegans, the same species as the parlor palm in the line-up.
Money trees and rubber plants make broad leaves feel large against a small pot. A money tree gathers leaflets like a hand, while a rubber plant gives each individual leaf a strong outline. Both remain legible across a desk or room.
Snake-plant leaves rise vertically. A gajumaru draws attention not only to its leaves but also to the base and trunk. These are not five interchangeable pieces of green décor. Their height, direction and use of space make a different scene behind every player label.
A player label opens into growing time
The official announcement says that original labels have been prepared for every player. A buyer may begin with a favourite squad number, but what remains in the room is a living plant. New leaves open, their direction changes and their proportion to the pot slowly shifts.
A scarf or shirt belongs naturally to match-day preparation. This small pot occupies the days between matches. The crest stays fixed while the leaves beside it refuse to remain the same, bringing the mark of support and the plant’s own time onto a desk or into an entrance.
What to check at the five Miyagi stores
Sales begin on 1 October at ¥877 including tax. The announcement names DCM Izumi, Izumi Ichinazaka, Minamiyoshinari, Rifu and Natori. It does not state that the plants will be sold online or delivered.
At the store, the player name need not be the only choice. Look at the five plant silhouettes as well: the parlor palm’s fine leaflets, the snake plant’s vertical lines and the gajumaru’s base. Even with the same label, choosing the plant itself brings one pot closer to its future room.
Club colours keep growing indoors
Choosing a squad number and choosing the shape of a plant meet only once at the store. What follows is the slower change in how the pot looks whenever a leaf opens. Beside Vegalta’s yellow and blue, five kinds of green begin to settle into a room at their own pace.
